Divide and conquer (your attention)

Since a few days, I'm wondering around in Mac world. It's an amazing world. Everything is so shiny and bright. All applications have that designer-look to them. Even the free ones. And what's more: people here are prepared to actually pay for software, as long as the amount is between $5 and $49.99.
Then there are the awkward observations. Everybody's happy to be finally freed from the Microsoft lock-in! And they all hurry to save their data in iTunes, .mac accounts and the likes. Now there's lock-in for you. You can't even buy MacOSX without buying Apple's hardware. Imagine Microsoft trying to pull this off.
People are looking for solutions in every direction. You have Think to allow you to concentrate on one thing at a time. And then you have applications like PandoraBoy, which boasts features such as
